Russian is just boosted with some billion mostly French imported words, because there was a lot of Russian authors that thought they were better the more words they used.

That kind of authors never became popular in Sweden, instead simplicity or local language became popular. But if you look at the Swedish law-language for example, there is no shortage of words (that very few know).

Then there is that destructive keep-Swedish-clean-from-foreign-words-movement, that has damaged the language a little, but it's not as strong as in Nynorsk, Latvian or French.
