Good morning. (It is about nine o'clock AM, Eastern Standard Time as I write this.) I am Symon Quinn, also known as [Mordred]. (On Elfpack, I am known as [ROKK the RAINBOW], and on Writersco, I am also [Mordred].) Though I am only sixteen and a high school junior-to-be, I do take my education extremely seriously. My aim is to be an author of fiction novels and short stories, and so I am constantly reading and writing to further my understanding of the English language. I realize that my knowledge of said language - as compared to the vast repertoires of many I have met and hope to meet in the future - is rather minimal, but a student's goal and duty is to learn.

I am from Maryland, on the east coast of the United States, and I currently attend Joppatowne High School. I'm a female-to-male transgender, though I have yet to begin any true procedure. I chose my username in homage to one of my favorite characters of Arthurian legend, as well as to one of my favorite novels: Mordred, Bastard Son by Douglas Clegg.

This past school year, I had the honor and privilege of entering the Harford County Reading Council's twenty-sixth annual writing contest. I won first place for my level (ninth and tenth grade) and was entered in the state contest, in which I unfortunately did not place. I am planning on entering the contest again this year.

I am here chiefly to meet students who share my interest in English and creative writing, as well as to learn from those more experienced in my chosen areas of study. Hopefully, I will be privileged enough to meet others in my area.

I hope my youth and inexperience does not put anyone off, nor bar me from this community. I realize that I may be out of my league, so to speak, but I still wish to gain a niche here, however small it may be.
