I did protect a cat from following me back home. She really wanted to follow me back home, but I managed to convince her that it wouldn't be a great idea.

She was freezing outside and the window to home was locked for her. But she did have her huge (It's wasn't big, but HUGE) fur, so I'm sure she wasn't cold. And she would have been badly hurt, even with her HUGE fur, here, with three cats scratching her.
